2002 BMW E46 330Ci M Sport Manual – Imola Red – Restoration Project / Spares or Repair For sale is my 2002 (52 plate) BMW E46 330Ci M Sport Coupe , finished in Imola Red with black leather interior . This is a genuine factory M Sport , with the 3.0-litre straight-six petrol engine and manual gearbox . The car has been off the road and stored for approximately 8 years and is now being sold as a non-running restoration project / spares or repair . Vehicle details 2002 / 52 plate BMW E46 330Ci M Sport Coupe 3.0-litre straight-six petrol Manual gearbox Imola Red Black leather interior 140,882 miles recorded at last MOT V5C present One key No current MOT Current condition The car was recently transported to a local garage to assess its condition after being stored for a number of years. I want to be completely transparent about what I have been told. The mechanic has advised that there is significant corrosion/rot underneath , including areas requiring sill welding . He has also identified work including: Brake pipes Brakes all round Fuel pump Sill/welding work Full service/recommissioning Given the length of time the car has been standing and the corrosion underneath, additional work may be discovered and buyers should assume that substantial restoration/recommissioning will be required. The battery is currently flat and the vehicle is not running . I have not attempted to turn the engine over, so I cannot make any guarantees regarding the present condition of the engine, gearbox or other mechanical components. There is also visible exterior rust/corrosion, including around the wheel arch, together with various cosmetic marks and deterioration consistent with the age of the car and the length of time it has been stored. Please study all photographs carefully. MOT history / why it came off the road The last MOT was carried out on 2 November 2018 at 140,882 miles . It failed with major defects relating to: Engine management/MIL warning light Nearside front anti-roll-bar linkage ball-joint dust cover There was also a minor defect relating to the offside front anti-roll-bar linkage dust cover and an advisory concerning corrosion to an offside rear brake pipe. Following the failed MOT, the car was taken off the road. Due to changing family circumstances at the time, I never got around to having the work completed and the car remained stored. The good points Despite the work required, this is a desirable E46 specification: Genuine 330Ci M Sport Coupe Manual gearbox Imola Red Black leather interior 3.0-litre straight-six Matching BMW alloy wheels Car is being sold largely complete as pictured V5C present One key It could therefore make a worthwhile restoration project for someone with the skills/facilities to take it on, or alternatively a useful donor/spares vehicle.
