Selling my BMW 1 Series MSport 118d for breaking and spares. I've had the car for 6 years, since 90,000 miles, fully serviced and maintained (10 years of paperwork and MOT's provided) no issues whatsoever until 3 weeks ago, where there was a vibration on the steering wheel due to a sticky caliper. On replacing the front brake discs, brake pads and faulty calliper (receipt available, £550) the idrive and garage then diagnosed the main ABS pump needed…
Selling my BMW 1 Series MSport 118d for breaking and spares. I’ve had the car for 6 years, since 90,000 miles, fully serviced and maintained (10 years of paperwork and MOT’s provided) no issues whatsoever until 3 weeks ago, where there was a vibration on the steering wheel due to a sticky caliper. On replacing the front brake discs, brake pads and faulty calliper (receipt available, £550) the idrive and garage then diagnosed the main ABS pump needed repairing, which is a £2.5k job at BMW, or a £700 job with a second hand part. I’ve considered this for a few weeks now, as I am getting a new company car in September, and have decided to sell for spares or breaking as one sale, as I believe it’s worth more broken down in parts now. The car is in excellent shape for age and mileage, no other issues known, has flown through it’s MOT’s over the years, and still insured as I’m driving it around town, but it’s not safe to go above 40/50mph as that’s when the pads start rubbing. Interior seats is in excellent shape with no visible tears and damage, and everything else works as it should. Sold as seen, and as spares/ breaking, Private Reg will be removed and back to factory registration next week, no rush for winning bidder to collect, happy to store on drive way for a few weeks for european buyers and breakers.
