The buy it now purchase price is based (just below) upon what the auction finished at. ************************************************************************************ I am selling this vehicle as “Spares or Repairs” see the detail as to why below. The BMW 1 Series 116i M Sport is a sleek black hatchback with a 1.6 petrol, turbo charged engine, perfect for those looking for a sporty yet practical vehicle. With a manual transmission and 4 drive modes and right-hand drive, this 2014 model offers power windows, CD player, and air conditioning among other features. It has had 6 previous owners and comes with its V5C registration document, expired MOT since 12.08.2025, and a partial service history available. With its sport seats, tilt steering wheel, and premium sound system. I purchased the vehicle for my daughter on 31.08.2024 to replace her previous car which had suddenly expired. I bought it recorded as an insurance category “N”, non structural damage, and at the time saw a photo of the dent in the bumper prior to it being repair by the previous owner. I purchase it in Leicester and drove it back to Devon, some 250 miles. On the journey back, about 70 miles from home, the engine light came on and power was slightly reduced for the remainder of the journey. I booked the BMW into my local garage to diagnose the issue and fix. In the images I have shown the Thermostat purchased and fitted just prior to me buying the car. and the series of garage undertaken work: 1. The 1st bill from my local garage on 20.09.2024 at 81,232 miles for Diagnostics, Replacement Cam Shaft sensor and Coolant expansion bottle and an engine oil, filter service. upon completion I was advised that the Timing Chain and all ancillary items needed changing 2. The 2nd bill from my local garage on 26.09.2024 at 81293 miles was for supply and replacement of a BMW supplied Timing Kit with all ancillary items, Replacement Water Pump, replacement spark plugs and 2 x Bosch Coil packs. upon return the vehicle worked perfectly with no engine lights and no faults. I drove the car for about 2-weeks prior to giving it over to my daughter who drove it for a further month with no issue. Then I was called to her breaking down. The vehicle had lost all of the coolant and she was stopped on the side of the road. I called the AA who reattached the bottom coolant hose and refilled the coolant and bled the system. I drove the car home for about 1-hour and it functioned perfectly with everything working as normal. 3. I returned the vehicle to my local garage on 14.11.2024 at 81,830 miles, where bill no.3 describes the replacement under warranty of the water pump which although only recently fitted was found to have failed and was leaking. Upon the return of the vehicle I noted that the heater only had a tiny amount of heat coming through to the cabin which I was told was due to and air lock in the coolant system. I returned the vehicle 2 further times to the garage and on the 2nd occasion he managed to get the heating working. I again drove the car for 2-weeks and it functioned perfectly with everything working as normal. My daughter then took the car again for approximately 4-months covering around 3000 miles with everything functioning well. She then noted that the coolant was low and I retrieved the vehicle and took it to a different and well trusted garage for diagnosis and any fixes necessary. 4. The 4th bill is from the different garage on 20.03.2025 at 54,942 miles where the diagnosis was no leaks but an air lock in the coolant system. They checked the radiator, heater matrix and all hoses for clear flow including the block of the engine and then vacuum refilled the coolant system to ensure there were no leaks or air locks in the system. the vehicle was returned functioning perfectly with everything working as normal. I drove the vehicle for 1-week and then handed it back to my daughter. She drove it for a further 700 miles (1-month) and again reported that the coolant was low. I picked up the vehicle refilled the coolant and ran it for a day before returning it to the 2nd garage where everything was checked and no leaks or problem was found. My daughter having lost faith in the BMW bought a cheap run around and I kept the BMW garaged and SORN’d from June 2025 until now, running it weekly awaiting either my daughter to take it back on, or my 2nd daughter to need the car once passing her test. The BMW proved too expensive to insure for a newly passed driver hence the sale now without MOT and without me able to guarantee that the persistent coolant issue is resolved, especially as the heat into the cabin is not very hot. After spending many thousands on this vehicle I have no option but to sell it as “Spare or Repair” and have put no reserve on it. I hope the images show that the vehicle is in good condition for its age with, of course, the usual and expected age related stone chips, etc. Feel free to message me to discuss, request any further images, view and inspect the vehicle which is located in Shebbear, North Devon. ******************************************* Due to the level of questions about my hopes and expectations for price. I know that I have spent massively in excess of £5,000 on this vehicle which is in well over the book value. (Done as it was due to go to my daughter. but no good deed goes unpunished) and I understand that I will not get back anywhere near that. With a book value for the car in excess of £3,000 (for condition, mileage, etc.) I would hope to make around £1,800 which the last auction exceeded. However, there is no reserve and I will trust that with the full and honest description that the market judges and the auction realises a fair price. I hope this information is useful.
