Since then the car drove beautifully for a couple of months and then suddenly got oil smoke and the engine cut out whilst driving. The engine does turn over slightly on when attempting to start but only a quarter of a turn but no more. I had the car recovered by the RAC and its still sat where it was dropped off as I haven’t got the time or desire to take this to a mechanic. My guess is that the turbo blew again catastrophically and dumped a load of oil in the cylinders but I am no mechanic. In my opinion something is causing the turbo to fail and the mechanics don’t really know what. They want to keep on replacing parts but it costs a new turbo each time they get it wrong. Its ideal for someone who knows these cars and is able to diagnose it properly. I had the mechanics remove/blank the egr and dpf as they thought that was causing the issue previously but it made no difference and just cost more money. Will obviously have to be recovered. Otherwise was in good condition for age. There is a scrape mark at the bottom of the front bumper. Cars with this spec and mileage are on for about £8k on auto trader. The worst case scenario is a new engine and those can be had for approximately £2k so still worth while for someone who knows what they are doing. I would assume the worst. Looking to get as close to £4k as possible. No warranty given or implied. Strictly spares or repairs.
